The Widows Sons Masonic Riders Association is an International Association which is open to all Master Masons who enjoy the sport of motorcycling and have a desire to ride with and associate with their fraternal brothers. Our goal is to:

1. Introduce the sport of motorcycling to our Masonic Brothers.
2. Raise Masonic Awareness in the world of Motorcycling.
3. Contribute to Charities and to the relief of our Widows and Orphans.
4. Support the Blue Lodge through regular attendance and assisting with or attending lodge events.

While we wear identifying patches or regalia, the Widows Sons are not a gang or 1% club. We are required to represent the fraternity in a positive light at all times. The Widows Sons serve as a Masonic Booster Club by helping to raise Masonic Awareness while we attend public motorcycling events and by supporting our Blue Lodges in whatever capacity we are able. Widows Sons chapters have helped increase Masonic membership through our presence and visibility during these events and rallies.

In every location where we have a chapter, The Widows Sons have proven themselves to be a positive asset to the fraternity.

The Widows Sons was conceived by and founded by Brother Carl Davenport PM, in the year 2000. Today there are chapters throughout 25 states of the US and abroad.  Currently, there are 3 active Chapters chartered in the State of Ohio alone.

Our Chapter:

The Chapter Name “Solomon's Sevens” was adopted as recognition of our Masonic Heritage and reminds us to act in the character of our ancient brethren, how the principles of freemasonry cross all boundaries, of countries, opinions, and even time. It also alludes to our charter, as there were seven members that met on July 07, 2007 at 7 p.m. to found this local chapter.  During this meeting there were numerous ‘seven’ occurrences and it was deemed that this should be remembered for all time.  The evening was closed with a toast with seven straws.

Our Logo:

The logo of the Ohio Widows Sons is the ‘new’ patch adopted by the Northern Jurisdiction in May 2004. Although large and very detailed, this logo has much symbolism to our brethren, and is representative of our fraternity to the public.  The three sides of the triangle represent the degrees of traditional blue lodge masonry, while the three points represent the burning tapers. The all-seeing eye reminds us that our thoughts words and actions are always being observed, and to respond accordingly.  The square, level and plumb represents the three principal officers of the lodge, and is symbolic of our working tools. The rising sun represents the Master of the Lodge at the apex of the triangle, while reminding us the sun never sets on freemasonry; its light is cast forever to all points of the globe. The wings demonstrate personal freedom and liberty, ideas at the heart of every mason. They also are a common symbol throughout the motorcycling community and therefore demonstrate our heritage. The ‘meet on the level & part on the square’ remind everyone that we are masons above all.  We wish to be received as such, and hope to overcome any prejudices and misconceptions of those who ride motorcycles. This phrase is also intended to stimulate conversation among non-masons, thereby providing an opportunity for our members to explain the great attributes of the Masonic fraternity.  The color of red for the text reminds us to be passionate towards Freemasonry, the Widows Sons, and the motorcycling community, while the silver embroidery designates us an affiliated/descendant chapter of the Ohio Grand Chapter Widows Sons Masonic Riders Association.
